How is a metal-ceramic crown placed?

Before the procedure, you should first make an appointment with a dentist – no prosthetics can be done without a consultation. At the consultation, the doctor selects a suitable type of crown and determines the extent of the intervention.

Before installation, a complete oral cavity sanation is also carried out – professional tooth cleaning and treatment of tooth decay.

In some situations, the pulp of the tooth is removed and the tooth is ground down for more severe tooth damage. An impression of the tooth surface is then taken to create a unique crown in a dental laboratory.

When the crown is ready, the patient first wears a “trial version” of the crown, which is not yet cemented in place. This is necessary for a precise fitting of the shape (because the prosthesis is not removable after final placement).

If there is no discomfort when wearing the trial crown, it can be cemented with a special cement after about a month.
